Hojicha Coconut Cloud Recipe

Hojicha Coconut Cloud

Escape the heat with this effortlessly cool Hojicha Coconut Float. It layers refreshing coconut water with a creamy, dreamy hojicha foam that sits on top like a fluffy cloud. Dairy-free, delicious, and ready in just five minutes.

The Magic Behind the Layers

This drink is all about texture and contrast. The base is pure, chilled coconut water; light, hydrating, and subtly sweet. Floating on top is a rich foam made by blending earthy hojicha powder with thick coconut cream and a touch of milk. The key is whipping it just enough so it's pourable and cloud-like, not stiff like whipped cream.

Choosing Your Ingredients Wisely

Coconut Water

The foundation of the drink. Opt for a brand you enjoy drinking on its own, naturally sweet and fresh-tasting, not sour or salty.

Coconut Cream

This is what gives the foam its luxurious, float-worthy texture. For the best results, use the solid cream from the top of a chilled can of full-fat coconut milk.

Hojicha

Use a finely ground, high-quality hojicha for the best roasty, toasty flavour that shines through the cream.

Ingredients

    blank

    • ½ cup ice
    • 180 ml (¾ cup) coconut water

    blank

    • 1 teaspoon Hojicha Powder
    • 4 tablespoons coconut cream, chilled
    • 3 tablespoons milk (oat, dairy, or your choice)

    Directions

    1. Chill the Base: Fill a tall glass with the ice and pour the coconut water over it.
    2. Create the Cloud: In a separate pitcher or bowl, combine the hojicha powder, coconut cream, milk, and vanilla syrup.
    3. Whisk to Perfection: Use a handheld milk frother to whisk the mixture for just a few seconds until it is smooth, combined, and slightly frothy. Be careful not to over-whip, it should be thick but still easily pourable.

    4. Layer and Serve: Gently pour the hojicha cloud over the back of a spoon onto the iced coconut water to create a beautiful layered effect.
    5. Enjoy immediately! Stir before drinking to combine the flavors or sip through the layers.
